“To find rest unto our souls includes peace of mind and heart, which is the result of learning and following the doctrine of Christ.”

This talk was a good reminder about the importance of consistently seeking to do good and draw closer to God. Having this peace doesn’t mean that our lives are free from trouble–it means that we can feel assured that God is with us and will see us through our troubles.
“In our day to day actions, it is often the small and simple things that will have a long lasting impact.” This was my favorite quote form the talk. It reminded me that we don’t have to do huge miraculous things to make our children understand the things that we are teaching them, but if we do the small and simple things everyday they will help to shape the people that our children will grow into.
I love that quote too, Jessica. So true, and yet the consistency can be such a challenge.
I agree! It is hard to always be kind, always be patient, always be loving, and always be wise, especially with young children! It reminds me again that the only true gift we can give to God is our will. It is my natural man that wants me to be lazy and inconsistent, but if I offer my will to God, he can strengthen me to achieve things that I would never be able to do on my own.
