You think I’m a little early, but I know what I’m doing. I’d like to share a little strategy with you. Every year for Mother’s Day, I buy myself a plane ticket and a ticket to Women’s Conference at BYU. It’s two days of refueling, encouragement, escape, and girl power. I just say, “For Mother’s Day, I want to go to Women’s Conference.” And Matt, relieved that he doesn’t have to think of or buy any gift on his own, heartily consents. (Plus I come back a better person.)

Diapers and Divinity 
Did you know that Lisa (from our LRS days) is going to be a speaker this year? I’d love to hear her, but you’ll have to go for me and let me know how she does. I already bought my own M-Day gift this year too – a musical PA system that plays 80 songs and sounds for my car. So next time you’re in my ‘hood if I pass by you, I might just click a button that says, “Hey Baby” in a manly voice. No joke – I just ordered it a few days ago and can’t WAIT for it to get here!!! I’m sure I’ll blog about it once I have it installed and can do a little internet demonstration for all to enjoy. Did I say I can’t wait yet? I CAN’T WAIT!
Well, I’ll be here I think. Actually, I will be in Utah County on that Saturday.
You know, I really should. And I wouldn’t even have to buy a plane ticket, just a car ride down the canyon. As a bonus, that’s also the weekend of my birthday. Hmmmm….

I often go, and was planning to go this year, but I can’t. I’m so sad, and am planning to next year. What a great idea to call it a Mother’s Day gift!
Oh…if only New Zealand wasn’t so far away *sigh*…one day..one day! 😉

Oh, I’m so envious! They did a Time Out for Women in Anchorage two years ago and it was spectacular. It was the first one they’d done in Alaska. We’re not on the schedule for this year though, nor is a plane ticket… Maybe next year.
P.S. My stake does a Women’s Conference every August, which I always look forward to. It’s lower-key, but still great. So don’t feel too bad for me. I mean, still a little. Just not too much. 🙂

I wish I had thought of this before I asked for golf clubs! I’m going to TOFW this coming weekend and our stake is doing its Relief Society retreat in October. But that is definitely what I’m asking for next year!
